And in the next second your mind will change again. Good, bad, successful, failure, first draft, throw all of it in the trash. It is, for lack of a more poetic utterance, what it is. If that’s the moment when you have to send your art off for publishing, you are likely at the end of the journey.
And you look out at the world and the thing you have put into it and at that moment - that moment is all you have. Your taste, your jealousies, your inhibitions and guilt drive you to a new vista. And at any given moment, you flip a coin. Quantum Mechanics tells us that probability is all we have. If you hesitate, if your ponder becomes an eternity there is no drawing to share. I think it can be better, but I could spend a lifetime making changes. And yet.īut where does that leave me? I like a drawing I create, I don’t like it. Opinions on art can be validated but they cannot be proven. And that leads to an unsettling conclusion or a very wise one.it’s all subjective and only change is constant.
