The Windows 10 version of the game was released worldwide on March 1, 2016. It was released on Augin North America and Augin Europe. Gears of War: Ultimate Edition also supports dedicated servers for both online matchmaking and private matches. More features have been added that include mechanics from newer Gears of War games, such as spotting and switching weapons while roadie running, among others.
Ultimate Edition's updated visuals also apply to the original Gears of War multiplayer maps, with the inclusion of all the downloadable maps and the three Gears of War (PC) exclusive maps.
